The other news that we are excited to share with you is,
Patrick Scully and Mark Wojahn invite you to a Filmmaker’s Evening and Fundraiser to complete the new documentary “The Dance is Not Over: The Patrick Scully Story”
Thursday, November 4 | 6:00 – 9:00 pm
The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis | 410 Oak Grove Street
Dive into an evening of performance and film, hors d’ oeuvres and drinks, dancing and red carpets to raise the final funds to complete Mark Wojahn’s film that documents the life and work of Patrick Scully.
“The Dance is Not Over: The Patrick Scully Story,” documents and celebrates the life and work of Minneapolis’ well-known Gay dancer, performance artist, storyteller, and activist. Patrick’s story chronicles the events of a generation and is critically important to document for future generations. The completed film will be available on streaming services and will be preserved at the University of Minnesota’s Tretter Collection of Patrick Scully.
All donations will be designated for the completion of this work.
Funders giving $20,000 will be credited as Executive Producers
$10,000 will be credited as Producers
$5,000 will be credited as Associate Producers
Any amount will also be listed in the credits of the film.
Our goal is to raise $65,000 to fully fund and ensure that Patrick’s story – which in many ways is all our stories – gets told.
I want to thank Lee, Margaret, Wilbur & June for the $1558 we raised in the last 30 days!
In addition to screening clips from “The Dance is Not Over: The Patrick Scully Story,” scenes from “Leaves of Grass – Illuminated,” a related Wojahn documentary of Patrick’s show at the Guthrie Theater, will also be presented. As many of you know, Mark also works as a Propmaster, Art Director and Production designer.
Here are some updates he can share. Below, are some newly released projects and some new props that are available for rent.
Above is a recent Cellcom commercial featuring Green Bay Packer, David Bakhtiari. This is the third shoot I've gotten to do with the very funny director Fred Goss. It was produced by Rebecca Brown of Company Films. It was shot in Green Bay with production mgr & locations by Nicholaus Langholff.
Below is one of four spots I art directed for Travel Wisconsin, directed by Jeff Stonehouse, produced by Howdy Gang, It was super fun to shoot at some of the most iconic locations in Wisconsin found by Nicholaus Langholff. The campfire in this spot is made with my flame bar!
On both projects, I was part of great crews and I'm very happy with what we did. Go team film!
For those of you who don't know, I now work as a local out of Minneapolis and Milwaukee!
Here are some new prop to rent!
These both work, just got them this week. My research says they are from the 1930's. I will be ordering new ribbons asap. Photo by Mark Wojahn.
