Soundtrack of Phillips from Mark Wojahn on Vimeo.

‘Soundtrack of Phillips’ follows the vibrant and talented musician Mankwe Ndosi as she creates music from the Phillips neighborhood in south Minneapolis. In 2014, Ms. Ndosi received the prestigious Forecast / McKnight fellowship to create her musical public art project. That same year, Forecast Public Art teamed with IFP-MN to commission veteran documentarian Mark Wojahn to follow Mankwe’s progress. The result is a heartfelt and colorful short film of Mankwe’s charismatic and beautiful approach to sound, listening and community.

This film was shot in HD by director, dp and editor, Mark Wojahn. Mankwe and her producer Medium Zach (of Big Quarters) scored the film. Medium Zach and Kent Militzer of Uproar studios mixed the audio. Cory Bauer and the downtown Minneapolis post production house Channel Z did some wonderful graphics and animation. All this attention to detail will make sure this is a top notch 6 minutes of your film festival or media program.
