December News

Dear Friends & Colleagues, I want to thank all the producers and directors that have been able to hire me this fall. We made some dope and beautiful images for the screen.

I'm celebrating a bit of thing...This month marks the 30th anniversary of being in the biz. It was in 1992 that I did my first gig as a PA. I can't believe that this crazy industry has kept me around for that long! I feel truly blessed to be in the good graces of many of you for three decades. Last January, I was on a gig with Mike Welckle, Ralph Lindell, Victor Korte for Best Buy. This was many of the same crew that was on that first job, an Ali Selim commercial shot at Old Arizona Studios. On it, I made $100 a day. I remember the wafting the wind in the bedroom curtains, I was part of the illusion. I was bitten. The rest was history, Thank you for 30 years!

Below, I have new video that I was the Milwaukee decorator on, the short film, Naija Odyssey, about Giannis Antetokounmpo.
More info about all of this below.

If you have a spot or film that you need some art dept help on, pls call or send an email to discuss your idea. If you need to see more examples of my work. Here is a link to my website. I have some availability in December and January. I work as a local out of Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago.

Above is the origin story short film,Naija Odyssey, about the MVP basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo. I got to work under, decorate & build for the veteran Milwaukee production designer Art Wilinski. Most of our work was focused on the Penthouse set that you see at 00:35 seconds. That was a huge deal, but of course there was lot more that ended up on the cutting room floor. As my old boss used to say, "Our best work is never seen!"  Amazing job by local producer Nicolaus Langholff for coraling this star studded entourage production together.

Below, is some throwback work. I've been lucky in my career to work with some talented artists. In 2014, I was the prop master on WILSON. I got to prop; Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern, Judy Greer and others. All incredible talents. It was an amazing experience and it def. made me a better prop master and dept. head.

For both shoots, I was part of a great crew. As you know, It's all about team!

Thanksgiving and Patrick Scully

Dear Fans and patrons for the films about Patrick Scully,

Thanks to all for your support of the Patrick Scully films. Our September FUNraiser brought in over a 100 people and and the total gross of the fundraising campaign wasover $23,000! Your generosity is so vital and has helped keep this project going!

Another thing we are thankful for over here we have a new editor on the team. Dan Jaginich of Jagged Edge productions has stepped in because of Skip Davis' health issues. Dan is a veteran editor in the Twin Cities, he has edited so many things from; rock n' roll documentaries about the Replacements, to commercials and Bizarre Foods episodes by Andrew Zimmer on TV. We are lucky to have him working with us. We wish the best for Skip and hope he can still consult on the edit when he returns to top form.

As I said in the last email, Do you know that the fundraiser is still going on? The artist Eyenga Bokamba made paintings on the rooftop at the fundraiser. Those are on display right now at her show at Concordia Art Center, Nov 3rd-Dec 14th. She is donating all the proceeds of these 20 paintings to the making of the Patrick Scully films. Eyenga is a BIG fan of Patrick and the Cabaret. She credits them as being primary influences on her finding her voice as an artist. Plus, shes a HUGE deal with international shows like Venice Biennale on her resume. Click here to contact Eyenga and acquire one of these special paintings. More details below, Thank you Eyenga!

Thank you for your support!

Dear Attendees of the Fundraiser for the films about Patrick Scully,

Thanks for a wonderful and successful evening. Your attendance and donations were a great help to the project. Since donations opened for this fundraising round in 2021, we've been able to raise over $18,000 for the films. We set our goal high at $75,000. And we still hope for more donations to come in from our fiscal sponsor Film North, (we'll find out next week what came in from September). But considering the pandemic and recession, I think we have done quite well. I sense the pandemic may have limited attendance to be quality over quantity. For each one of you to make the effort to come out, you're the best! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
